Kia Ora
We made this commercial at Klacto at the beggining of the eighties. It was written by the late John Webster. This commercial became incredibly succesful and popular but it also had it's detractors. We were a bit surprised by these negative reactions because there was no intention to offend anybody.
I found this in YouTube and I don't know who posted it. I am learning to compress videos and soon I will be ready to post some curiosities from our archives.

Yo espero generar pesadillas y no instruir, Lea. Un apretujon amistoso.
DAMN!!!
That is still fresh!
I loved it! You are one hell of an animator, Mr. Grillo. This is timeless.
Love this new site. So wonderful to be able to view your animation art.
you are a life saver i have been looking for this commercial as i wanted to show some of my friends in the states some of the commercials i saw while i was young
This is so great, what great great movements.
ESE corto tuvo detractores ?!!
La gilada "chamuya al cuete"...
Porque alguien creyo ver representaciones raciales derogatorias.
So cool
EXCELLENT- look forward to seeing video treasures from you.
The detractors' take may have been similar to the recent Don Imus radio brouhaha over in the States. One dare not characterize any black beings in any manner except a positive one, unless one is himself black. Doesn't let the rapper view of women off the hook.
May I just say:
"We ALL adore Kia Ora !"
Great spot. This one and the Sinatra's Greatest Hits spot have always been favorites of mine. I've loved this since Andreas Deja screened it for a group of us at Disney along with show reels from Eric's Pizazz Pictures and Dick Williams.
Can you post the one with the beavers advertising Baked Beans ? (in the lighthouse) . That was fun, too.
